This very old brewery in the historical town of Frýdlant is mentioned for the first time in 1381. Since the 16th century its stands on the same premises as today, being named after one of the most famous military leaders of the 30 years war Albrecht von Wallenstein. Albrecht eventually became one of the most powerful nobleman in the Kingdom of Bohemia and established the nearby Frýdlant castle as his stronghold. He was reported to have a passion for the local beer observing the brewery from his castle window. Albrecht lagers have enjoyed great reputation for centuries and this is no coincidence, indeed the very first book on bottom-fermentation in Bohemia was written by local head brewer Josef Daněk in 1852.
Bottom-fermented beer is brewed the traditional way, using the double-mash technique with the primary fermentation stage being separated from maturation in lager tanks. Since June 2014, the brewery has been offering its award-winning Albrecht craft beers brewed from its own water and carefully selected ingredients. The beer preserves its purest form and mostly comes unfiltered and unpasteurized. So far it received 23 gold medals in national competitions. Kateřina 12, Irish extra stout 17 Morion and Imperial Stout 24 Morion belong among our most awarded beers.
Since 2015, the brewery has been successful in prestigious competitions such as Golden Beer Seal, Czech Brewer’s Spring Award, The Beer of the Czech Republic, Liberec Regional Product of the Year or Regional Food Product of the Liberec Region. In 2018, the brewery achieved historical success in the competition The Beer of the Czech Republic, where it received a total of 10 awards. In total, we have received: 23 gold 15 silver and 18 bronze medals. Kateřina 12, Irish extra stout 17 Morion and Imperial Stout 24 Morion belong among our most awarded beers.
This refreshing beer, quite dry with aromas of tropical fruit and pink grapefruit, is very light and thanks to the Iow content of alcohol, makes for the ideal drink during hot days not only for enjoying summer gardens of your favorite pubs, but also as a refreshment for parched tourists or cyclists. The name Sum Ale refers not only to the summer, but also to one of the used hops, the American Summit. In the winter season, we offer a stronger version with OG 9%.

Albrecht 10 is honest ten-degree beer, which is surprisingly full and vibrant for its gravity, owing to carefully selected malts. Moreover, thanks to a higher fermentation rate, it has a decent alcohol content. Enjoy the pleasantly bitter beer with a rich body, pronounced aroma of Czech hops and a non-exhausting strong drinkability.

A manly honey-colored beer with a balanced milder bitterness and full malt body, and aroma of tobacco. A definitely interesting specimen from the category of top-fermented beers, which, thanks to a lower content of aromatic esters will delight even the sworn fans of traditional lagers.

A solid Czech lager brewed the traditional way, using exclusively the classical light Pilsner malt and Saaz hops. After at least two months of maturation in the lager cellar, every beer lover will taste the true liquid gold with great effervescence, more pronounced bitterness and a full grainy body. Of course, it retains all the strength in the most natural form without any final adjustments like filtering or pasteurization.

A classic dark lager with a distinctive, chocolate colour and a pleasantly balanced flavour. It is made up of five malts, which, once put together with our unique well water, give the beer an unmistakable character. The taste and smell of Katerina has clearly pronounced caramel and dark chocolate flavours and scents. However, it is not particularly sweet: this is a drier beer with a prominent increased body. Due to its uniqueness, this dark lager has become favoured even by drinkers who do not usually drink dark beers.

This unique nectar aims to bring back the original Bohemian White beer that was effectively killed by the Pilsener revolution in 1842 (the last brewery brewing the white beer closed down in 1884) but is accommodated to a somewhat more contemporary taste. Forget about modern IPAs or even APAs this ale is malty bearing a pleasant floral aroma, slightly citrusy with flavour remindful of a meadow & forest fruits. Also, Unlike new world ales this is Czech style decoction brewing. It has a pleasant medium zest, is soft and is very easily drinkable (it shall be enjoyed unfiltered) A different experience.

Melchior 12 is a great choice for quenching thirst. The fresh fruity aroma of raspberries, blackberries and cherries is, together with its thorough fermentation, a guarantee of strong drinkability. Despite its seemingly bright color, it retains its full body. The flavor contains notes of juicy tangerines and young grass, which naturally add to the overall medium bitterness that resembles the flavor of cherry pits.

It is a strong, top-fermented light beer with an amber hue. The character of the beer is determined by the American hop varieties Citra (for bitterness and aroma) and Cascade (for flavour and aroma). We do not skimp on hops during brewing and dry hopping, which results in a strongly aromatic beer (citruses, mango etc.) with very pronounced bitterness.

Being extremely easy to drink while reaching 22% OG makes Albrecht Imperial IPA Secret Enigma into a very addictive beer! When taking the first sips, the slightly sweet taste slowly changes into a gentle bitterness that sticks to the palate for a while and encourages further drinking. Great Australian hops Enigma and Victoria Secret then add a pleasant aroma of tropical fruit, mango, yellow melon, but also blueberry and a light whiff of roses.
