Since 1874, in the beautiful surroundings of the Jeseníky Mountains, the Holba Brewery has been producing pure mountain beer, well known both at home and abroad. Beginning with the first brew of Hanušovice beer by its founder, Josef Müllschitzký, the heritage and expertise of skilled brewers have been passed down through generations. At that time, the modern brewery, with an annual capacity of 22,400 hectolitres, could fill up to 40,000 barrels. Today, annual sales reach twenty times that amount, placing the brewery among the Czech Top Ten.
Although the fame of Hanušovice beer has long extended beyond regional borders, its strong connection to its place of origin is reflected not only in the brewery’s name—derived from Holba, one of the oldest parts of Hanušovice—but also in the names of its products.
