Weizen is a refreshing, unfiltered beer with characteristically dense foam. Notes of banana, cloves and a slight hint of nectarine can be found in both the aroma and flavour. It is an old Bohemian style that was consumed in Bohemia before the advent of Pilsner back in 1842 and is now nearly extinct. While Bavarian Weissbier is abundant, the Bohemian version is now rare. Unlike its German counterpart, the Bohemian version is much softer and less complex, being strongly dominated by banana esters. This makes it highly drinkable and can easily convince customers who do not normally drink Weissbier/wheat beer. Overall, a cracking summer thirst-quencher. Carefully selected hops lend the beer the aroma of resin, roses, grapefruit peel, and gooseberry traces. An intense, bitter opening gradually changes after sipping, and leaves behind a drier malt flavour with notes of caramel and dried fruit. The beer experience is completed by the dark amber to garnet colour and the fine silk foam.
